I was thinking about printing something up for fanime. And I was wondering if people prefer sketchbooks (preliminary work, doodles, black and white print, much cheaper) or artbook (finished works, color print, more expensive) Even if I were to combine them it would still have to be printed in full color and would be for the higher price... Which I think was about 8 dollars vs 20 dollars.

Also, will be at fanime. I have no idea what I'm going to be selling. 8(

I have been getting a bunch of requests to use my artwork on PSP sites? and other places. And instead of answering them all individually I'll just say it here:

I don't really care if people are using my artwork for personal uses, I've placed my stuff on the internet, so it's hard to safeguard against that kinda thing anyways. But even still I don't mind at all. As long as there is no profit involved and that people aren't taking credit for my work.

It would be awesome if you use my stuff just to throw a quick credit down, either to my DA account or to cutthroatgraphics.com (my sad un-updated website)

The only thing I ask is that you please stay away from the images with commission marked on them out of respect for the people who commissioned them.

Happy Holidays everyone!

I'm in Thailand again it's hot here. Although this time I'm probably not going to vacation too much. I have some obligations that I need to do while here.

I was thinking about uploading some of more my school work, since it takes up most of my time I don't have as much personal work to show. I will be working on storyboarding and that kind of stuff for my portfolio. I really hope that I can do storyboarding as a living someday. But since that's what I want to do the amount of finished work I produce is becoming less and less.

And a thought about the mentality of online artists:
(this is just a generalization, please don't take it to heart)
This is something that I've struggled with, but I now realize how faulty that type of thinking is. But there is kind of a taboo tagged for artists using reference or "copying". I understand where the idea came from, but I think it's rather silly. The old masters used to learn by copying, people would pay to sit in the art galleries and paint from the paintings hanging in them. There's actually a class where you go to Italy to do just that. And in the work place reference is everything. You need to look stuff up to see what it really looks like before you can expand on the idea. Learn the ins and out of something before going in and doing your own ideas on it. I don't believe in claiming something you copied as your own. But I think there is a lot that can be learned from it. I think I was scared off from it before because of the way people treat it online. I really did carry this weird notion that everything should come completely from your head. I think it came from this idea that copying is a huge no-no.

Anyways my whole point is that reference is good. Always do your research, and expand from there. Copy if you need to learn and afterwards do your own studies on the subject. People will know when you are a good artist, when you get there you'll have your own ideas on art. But don't limit your paths on getting there. Just don't post them online claiming you did them from scratch.

Hail from Thailand @3@!!!

I'm in Thailand for the first time ever... it's been really fun so far. The beaches here are beautiful . My BF lives in Bangkok so I've been staying with his family. Right now though I'm on Lanta island, I'm not sure where it is, but it's really nice.
The food here is great and really cheap @3@... so i'm probably going to be really fat comming home...

anyways I'm going to try to make a journal of my trip so maybe i'll post it when i'm done .
